Northwood’s Profiles: Birch Ridge Resort

Birch Ridge Resort is a classic family resort owned and operated by three generations of the Tiggemann/Alianello family.  Currently, Frank and Ann Alianello offer a great experience for visitors with their cabins, boats, and full-service fishing.  Their lodge is reminiscent of The Cedar Lodge and Fishing Resort in many of the scenes throughout In the Absence of Honor.

Some people say that the hours spent fishing are not charged against the allotted hours that each of us is allowed in our lifetime.  I am more inclined to a broader view.  Learning to appreciate the natural wonders around us will help us enjoy better those hours allowed to us.  Resorts, like Birch Ridge on Leech Lake, are great facilitators of that experience.
